Recently, we have seen the benefits of drinking coffee, which includes its potential in curing the liver cancer in heavy drinkers. Now another study came across the important benefit of consuming coffee, which is about curing the Alzheimer's disease.

The researchers have said that the beta amyloid protein is related to caffeine. Caffeine is abundantly found in coffee, and is potential in controlling the beta amyloid levels as a means of preventing, treating, and slowing the progression of Alzheimer's disease.

Abhishek Mohan, BS, Old Dominion University (Norfolk, VA), and co-authors have identified the possibilities of using caffeine in reducing the beta amyloid levels

Patricia A. Broderick, PhD, editor-in-chief of the journal featuring the article, said that "to say that strategizing medicines to treat Alzheimer's disorders is important is an understatement. Moreover, to say that caffeine is just an ordinary staple in our lives, whether caffeine is part of coffee or a chocolate bar, is also an understatement. Thus, what Dr. Mohan has published herein is elegant in its simplicity; his work is critically on target."

The present report, which is published in the Journal of Caffeine Research, apparently came across the linking of beta amyloid protein and caffeine, as a means of treating and preventing the disease, but has not concluded it as the ultimate solution. The study might have focused on the benefits of caffeine, which is insufficient in confirming this as the medicine in curing the Alzheimer's disease.
