Whether you wish to shift off major pounds from your body or just eat healthy, it's easy bet to ditch carbs completely. After-all, in this Atkins-diet loving world, there is little room for carbs, isn't it? But before you do that, understand that your body, like everything else, needs carbs to function well. We tell you why not to shun carbs altogether.


Your brain needs carbs to function well. That’s because your brain runs on glucose, and you get glucose from carbs. Nit having enough carbs could deter your ability to think, learn, and remember. So don't shun that loaf of bread altogether.

Good carbohydrates, like whole grains and fruits and veggies, contain a lot of fiber that keeps your bowel up and going. This in turns will make you less puffy as your body can eliminate waste effectively.

The old adage "pasta makes anything better" is indeed true. Most carbohydrates contain tryptophan, which spikes the levels of he feel-good hormone serotonin in your brain. Without enough tryptophan—and therefore serotonin—you’re more likely to get depressed and have sleeping difficulties.
