Every bride wants to shine on her wedding day. From glowing skin to bouncy hair a to-be bride wants it all. If your D-day has been scheduled then it's time to take special care of your tresses. Here are some hair care tips for would-be brides.

Eat well to maintain healthy hair

Most to-be brides forget to maintain their nutritional and fluid intake in their hectic pre-wedding schedule. This may result in dull hair. Try to avoid travelling if possible.

Would-be brides need to drink lots of water. Their regular diet should include milk products, spinach, mushrooms, soya, Chinese cabbage, chickpeas and almonds. These provide the best nutrition for the hair.

Treat dandruff and split ends

Don't ignore dandruff and split ends, due to the hectic schedules, as they tend to worsen. Make sure that you wash your hair with an anti-dandruff shampoo at least two times in a week. If you find anti-dandruff shampoo too harsh, then go for scalp cleansers.

To treat split ends increase your intake of minerals. Hair salons treat split ends by singeing – a method which involves use of a lighted incense to get rid of split ends without cutting the hair. But if this doesn’t help, then it's advisable to consult a trichologist.

It's a good practice to oil and massage your hair at night and rinse in the morning.

No crash dieting

To-be brides want the perfect body for which they join weight-loss and body toner programmes. While it's ok to look fit on your D-day, but make sure that you don’t go for a crash diet. Lack of food may lead to severe hair fall and other health problems. However if you must go for a weight-loss programme then ensure that you adopt a protein-rich diet with lots of fluid intake. This will provide essential minerals to your body and keep your hair healthy. And if you diet, do so under the supervision of a dietician.

Stay away from stress

Stress and anxiety in the last few days before your wedding can cause hormonal imbalance, leading to hair fall. So relax and stay calm. The world will not come to an end if a particular event is less than perfect.
