2014 seems to be turning out to be a year of big box-office clashes. First we have Ajay Devgn's "Singham Returns" clash with Surya's "Anjaan" on Independence Day.

Now come December, and cine buffs across territories will once again see the two Titans of Indian film industry - Rajinikanth and Aamir Khan - clash at the counters. That's right! Both the movies are slated to released around the same time, if not on the same day, threatening to dampen each other's business.

While Rajinikanth's much-hyped next "Lingaa" releases on December 12, his birthday, Aamir Khan's “PK”, which is making headlines with it's first promo teaser, is expected to come around a week later., on December 19.

Christmas is always the most favorable time for moviemakers to mint in maximum moolah. And with “Lingaa” and “PK” locking horns during the holidays, traders are expecting old records to be broken and new records made.

While Aamir's "PK" is likely to be a rage in northern and central India, Rajini's movie is expected to rule the South Indian Box Office. However, the biggest tussle will be at international circuits.

Aamir Khan's “PK” will release in about 4000 screens worldwide. The movie will be not be dubbed in other languages and will have a solo release.

Rajini's bilingual “Lingaa”, on the other hand, will be released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi in close to 4000 screens.

Traders are expecting a thrilling fight between these two biggies in the US and the UK where both have a good market.

In UAE, “PK”could have an edge over “Lingaa” considering the Hindi-speaking population. However, in Malaysia and Singapore, “Lingaa” could emerge stronger.

“PK” is a movie on Hinud godmen and stars Aamir Khan, Anushka Sharma, Sushant Singh Rajput, Boman Irani, and Sanjay Dutt.

“Lingaa” is out-and-out a commercial entertainer directed by KS Ravikumar. It stars Sonakshi Sinha and Anushka Sharma in the leads.
