India is now home to two COVID-19 strains and the situation is slowly slipping out of hand. However, last Wednesday, Britain authorised the use of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine which is the first vaccine for the new mutant strain.

After the country’s approval of the vaccine, it is now being sent out to India from the UK to control the spread of the COVID-19 mutant strain. The vaccination process will begin in January 2021.

The first phase will be prioritised in terms of issuing the vaccine. By July 2021, India plans on giving 30 crore doses to 30 crore citizens in the country.

The Oxford-AstraZeneca is the second vaccine to become authorised after the Pfizers vaccination.

More information regarding how, where and when to get the vaccine in India will be released after January 1st 2021.
