In Delhi’s Uttam Nagar, recently robbers fled with entire ATM machine loaded with around Rs 30 lakh, according to police.

Police said that the incident happened late in the night on March 18. The robbers had reportedly even covered the CCTV cameras with grease.

The manager of the Corporation Bank filed a complaint on March 19 in which he said that the bank operates from 9 a.m. to 9 pm. and after that, the security guard pulls down the shutters on the bank and the ATM every day.

But on the night of March 18, the guard forgot to pull the shutter down of the ATM, a senior police officer said. In the complaint, he said when the staff came to the bank on March 19, the ATM machine was missing.

The police officials said that have suspicion on the guard as of how he forgot to pull down the shutter. The investigation is still on.

The police said that they have got some clues about the accused people after checking another CCTV footage, adding two men have been suspected who visited the ATM before the robbery took place.

The manager told that they had put Rs 16 lakh in the ATM on March 18 at around 3:30 p.m. and the total amount in the machine was Rs 30 lakh.

"A case has been registered under section 380 (Theft ) and 457 (Trespass) of the Indian Penal Code and investigation has been initiated. Police have formed two teams to nab the accused persons," Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka) Anto Alphonse said.
