It’s the undisputed leader of the US’s $14.6 billion doughnut shop industry with a market share of around 62.1% share, according to data from IBIS World.
Dunkin’ is in plan to discard Donuts from its name.
Dunkin’ Donuts are going unveil a new store this month at Pasadena, California, that calls itself only Dunkin’. A few only Dunkin’ stores will pop up soon in this year.
Dunkin’ Donuts owner Dunkin’ Brands said that the company may make this news official next year. It means that they would drop Donuts from its thousands of stores and ad campaigns, but the decision still needs to be made.
“This Test coincides with our company’s plan to develop a new restaurant image, we do not anticipate making decisions regarding our branding until the latter half of 2018 when we begin rolling out our new store image,” said Dunkin’ Brands in a statement.
That Image may be less food centric. Dunkin’ wants to put more emphasis on its beverages and the company wants to reinforce that “ its a beverage based company- coffee leader”.
