Now you don’t have to look for an isolated place in times of urgency as, Indian government launched a new phone application today, with a toilet locator. As an initiative part of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan campaign. Which will find the location of the public toilets, in the area in which you are.
Some months ago International Business Times reported that the app developed by the Ministry of Urban development and Google plans will help people to find the nearest and cleanest toilets in towns and cities across India. But App cannot confirm whether nearest Washroom is totally clean or not.
It is expected that the app will just not locate government run public washrooms or Sulabh Shauchalays which are more likely to be in a filthy state, but the app will also locate washrooms in places like hospitals, metros, malls, petrol stations.
PRI a research organization said, 60 percent of the country’s population still defecate in the open and 70 percent of households in India do not have access to toilets, whether it is a rural area or urban slums.
At first the app will cover the National Capital Region and two cities in Madhya Pradesh.
