Rahul Gandhi should get a mental check-up: Subramanian Swamy

Responding to the Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi remarks on Prime Minister Narendra Modi over alleged politicization of Army's surgical strikes, BJP leader Subramanian Swamy said, gave him a piece of his mind, asking him to 'get a mental check-up'.

Accusing Narendra Modi of gaining political mileage out of Army's surgical strikes, Gandhi had said that, the government was doing "dalali" (trade) over the bloodshed by Indian soldiers. His comment has drawn flak from all corners.

Subramanian Swamy said that, "Rahul Gandhi either has had no education or should get a mental check up done for using these words against the PM."

"Unki dalali kar rahe ho, Yeh bilkul ghalat hai, Hindustan ki sena ne Hindustan ka kaam kiya, aap apna kaam keejiye. (You are trading on them. This is totally wrong. The Indian Army did its job for India, you do your work)," Rahul said in a brief but aggressive speech.

Attacking Gandhi's statement, Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal tweeted, "I strongly condemn what Rahul Gandhi said about our jawans, this is a matter in which we all need to stand united".

"Such words (dalali) should not have been used by Rahul Gandhi. These are the times for us unite & stand along army," he added.

Addressing a rally at the Jantar Mantar at the end of his Kisan Yatra across election-bound Uttar Pradesh, he also accused PM Modi of not fulfilling his promises to people made during the 2014 Lok Sabha polls.

Incidentally, Kejriwal had also sparked a controversy after he urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to "expose" Pakistan's propaganda on surgical strikes. BJP had said the AAP chief's comments amounted to seeking proof and were an insult to the army.
