For alleged speech provoking voters on caste line, an FIR was filed against Lalu Prasad Yadav, chief of RJD, on Tuesday. At village Terasiya in Raghopur of Vaishali district, Lalu Prasad delivered a speech on the very first day of his campaign for Tejashwi Yadav, his son.

Taking notice of Lalu’s speech, the election commission lodged the FIR against the RJD chief. However, it was in the Gangabridge police station in Vaishali district that the FIR was filed. It is known that Tejashwi has been a contestant from the constituency of the Raghopur assembly in the upcoming Bihar assembly election.

R Lakshmanan, additional CEO said, "The FIR against Prasad was lodged by a magistrate of the monitoring cell of the model code of conduct in Vaishali district for violation of poll conduct and IPC."

"Prasad in his speech addressed the crowd by saying Bihar assembly election as the war of the Mahabharata between the backward and forward castes. He asked Yadavs to "stay awake and remain united", especially against Brahmins. The ECI lodged the FIR for the two statements," the additional CEO added.
