The craze for death defying selfies seems to continue with zeal. The latest life threatening selfie was taken by Canadian adventurer George Kourounis who clicked himself inside an an active volcano.

Jaw dropping isn't it?

George Kourounis, known for his current television series Angry Planet, dropped himself inside an active volcano to click a volcano selfie. Luckily there was no volcanic eruption at the Marum crater, which is a boiling lava lake. It is situated in the Ambrym volcano in Vanuatu.

Later Kourounis tweeted: "Panorama shot from the top, looking down 1,200 feet to the Marum lava lake. The same height as the Empire State bldg."

Kourounis was able to click a self-portrait before his camera melted, literally.

Vanuatu, which is officially known as the Republic of Vanuatu, is an island nation located in the south Pacific Ocean.

Even the suit protecting him from the lava's heat was destroyed, according to Kourounis. The protective suit could not withstand the potent acid rain on the volcano, he added.
