Jena Malone is all set to appear in the cast of Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, according to reports in The Hollywood Reporter. However, her exact role in the flick is yet to be revealed.

Reports of Malone playing a role in the superhero flick surfaced in a report on Central Michigan NBC affiliate WILX-10. The Warner Bros. project is being shot in Detroit.

One of the reports from the station dropped the news that the film had a female Robin character . And that Malone is playing the character. The reporter was describing a scene – of a fight between Batman and Lex Luthor at a swank party -  that would be shot.

A female Robin is within the realm of possibility in the movie. Earlier director Zack Snyder had said that the film was adopting many cues from 'The Dark Knight Returns'.

Whether Jena Malone is playing a female version of Robin, Batman’s erstwhile sidekick, is yet to be disclosed by the filmmakers. Warners have not commented on the issue.

The superman flick is also rumored to feature Nightwing, the former Robin now an adult.
