Emma Watson and Daniel Bruhl are all set to star in upcoming film 'Colonia'. Oscar-winning director Florian Gallenberger will helm the political thriller.

The story is set in the background of the Chilean military coup of 1973. The film centres on a young German couple named Lena and Daniel. They get entangled in the violence that led to the overthrowing of president Salvador Allende, who had been democratically elected.

Daniel is kidnaped by the secret police of army chief and would-be-dictator Augusto Pinochet. Lena manages to track him out in a sealed-off area called Colonia Dignidad (Dignity Colony), with the help of preacher Paul Schafer. They soon realise that the commune is being used as a torture and detention center.

The upcoming movie will be shot in Germany, Luxemburg and South America.
