Disney's 'Jungle Book' has finally cast its Mowgli. The role of Mowgli, who was raised by animals in the jungle, will be played by Neel Sethi.

Disney zeroed down on the 10-year-old Neel Sethi as Mowgli after an extensive search for the right person.

The young newcomer from New York, will play the role of a young boy who is raised by jungle animals in Disney's adaptation of The Jungle Book, authored by Rudyard Kipling.

Neel will be the only actor in 'Jungle Book' to appear onscreen in this film. The movie will be a combination of animation and live-action.

Jon Favreau is directing the movie, which has been scripted by Justin Marks.

The other cast in the film include Idris Elba in the voice of Shere Khan (the tiger) and Ben Kingsley will lend his voice to Bagheera (the black panther). Besides, Scarlett Johansson and Lupita Nyong’o are in negotiations with the filmmahers for the classic tale by Rudyard Kipling.

Disney has plans to release 'Jungle Book' in 3D on October 9, 2015.
