Pop star Michael Jackson is worth millions even five years after his death. The celebrity singer is once again the top-earning dead celebrity in Forbes list.

On Wednesday Forbes magazine said Jackson raked in an estimated $140 million last year from his estate. His earning was more than double the amount earned by singer Elvis Presley, who died in 1977.

Presley came in second with an earnings of $55 million. Cartoonist and Peanuts comic strip creator Charles Schulz was placed at third position with $40 million.

According to Forbes, "few celebrities prove the point that there is (financial) life after death better than Michael Jackson."
This was Jackson's second straight year in the top-earning list of Forbes. In 2012 he was pushed into the second place by actress Elizabeth Taylor. But regained the title in 2013.

Last year, Jackson's second album to be released after death, "Xscape" was at No. 2 in pop charts. During the Billboard Music Awards, Michael Jackson appeared as a hologram. Jackson's earnings were jacked up by two Cirque du Soleil shows, "Immortal" and "One". Besides he has a steady flow of income from his music catalog and publishing empire.

Taylor featured at No. 4 with $25 million and reggae singer Bob Marley was placed at the fifth position with $20 million.

Forbes list included 13 deceased celebrities, who collectively earned a total of $363.5 million.
