George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin's wedding cost a whopping USD 1.6 million, according to reports. The Hollywood superstar and his Lebanese-British lawyer bride tied the knot on September 27 in Venice, Italy at a private ceremony.

The celebrity wedding was attended by around 100 guests that included only the family and close friends. The guests included Cindy Crawford and husband Rande Gerber, Matt Damon and Luciana Barroso, according to reports.

According to reports Clooney and business partner and wedding guest Rande Gerber, who happen to be founder of Casamigos Tequila, flew in 100 cases of the brand's award-winning Blanco, Reposado and Anejo tequila from California to Italy for the wedding celebration.

Latest reports suggest that the three-day wedding weekend, which includes their private September 27 ceremony at the Aman Canal Grande resort, cost around $1.6 million, people.com reported.

Speculations about the wedding expenses to be anything from USD 5 million to USD 13 million are being said to be incorrect.

Reports claiming Alamuddin's family bearing the cost of the wedding bill during the weekend, including several festivities at Amal's matrimonial home, the Belmond Hotel Cipriani are also being said to be inaccurate.
