Seems that their latest steamy act in the music video of "Can't Remember to Forget You" has put off Colombian council man, Marco Fidel Ramirez, who deems the racy duet as an endorsement of lesbianism and moral decay and fears that it will set a bad precedent for the young generation.

Ramirez is so much taken aback by the raunchy video that he has imposed a nationwide ban on it and has barred Columbia's National Television Authority from airing it as well.

The Public Option party councillor, from the capital of Bogota, said the video 'damages the moral character of the youth of Bogota, Colombia and Latin America.'

Mr Ramirez, a self-styled ‘defender of morals and principles’ has dubbed the 37-year old Colombian singer as a reference point for a society in moral decay.

‘Our Shakira with her erotic video is promoting tobacco usage and has become the worst example for our youth,’ he wrote on his Twitter feed.

‘Shakira's new video is a shameless case for lesbianism and immorality. It is a danger to children,’ he added, using the hashtag #PeligroVideoShakira, which translates to ‘Dangers of Shakira's Video.’

Ramirez, who said the video was ‘simply gross’ and nothing more than an ‘apology’ for lesbians, added: ‘It sends a provocative message to weak people who can be polluted and induced to practice.'

The video, featuring Shakira and Rihanna in myriad of compromising positions, has already got 62million views in You Tube.
