For the new age dream merchants, trudging around new realms seems to be the success mantra and Tigmanshu Dhulia seems no new to this emerging trend. After doling out off-beats like 'Paan Singh Tomar', and "Saheb Biwi aur Gangster", Dhulia returns to mainstream movie with his new outing 'Bullet Raja'. A gangster movie, Dhulia attempts to put forth a hi-octane drama laced with power-packed dialogues designed solely for the masses. The big question is - "Does Bullet Raja hit the mark?" Well, you need to read on to know.

Story
The film narrates the story of Raja Mishra(Saif Ali Khan), a commoner, who changes into a notorious, care-a-damn attitude gangster and revolts against the system he once devotedly followed. A faithful friend and a loyal lover, living life on his own terms, setting his own rules, commanding respect and fearing no one, Raja, in his true inimitable style, takes on the system that creates people like him.
He revolts against the system and sets his own rules, shaking the law makers and entrepreneurs in the process. As he gets more and more commanding and authoritative, the powers that be decide on clipping his wings and eliminate him.
Analysis :
Bullet Raja is raw, unrefined and harsh. Thanks to the script, the plot impresses. Although the film stagnates after a brilliant start, it's the climax that sails the film through.
The soundtrack is plain ordinary. Technically, this is amongst Tigmanshu's polished and genteel efforts. The background score is effectual, enhancing the drama at key points. Action sequences are realistic. Thankfully, there are no South-style stunts here!
Performance :
Saif Ali Khan slips into his unconventional zone without aplomb. The actor delivers an outstanding performance, dominating every shot and frame. His diction as well as body language is impeccable.
Jimmy Sheirgill is incredible. Sonakshi Sinha is charismatic in her brief role.
Vidyut Jammwal shines in a cameo. Raj Babbar plays the scheming politician with aplomb. Gulshan Grover is first-rate and so is Ravi Kissen, Vipin Sharma and Sharat Saxenat. Mahie Gill sizzles in the song and sequence.
Final Word:
To cut the long story short, Bullet Raja is Tigmanshu Dhulia's most 'commercial', mass appealing outing so far. Entertaining, engaging and extremely distinctive, this film deserves a watch.
