Bollywood superstar Salman Khan is known for his altruistic acts. Salman reportedly donated Rs.50 lakh to the Jammu and Kashmir flood relief fund meant to provide relief and rehabilitation to the victims.
Salman's philanthropic arm Being Human is well known for the charity work it does for the poor and needy people. So the donation of Rs.50 lakh is in keeping with his noble cause, according to a source close to Salman.
The Jammu and Kashmir flood was a big natural disaster and Salman Khan wanted to lend a helping hand to the victims, added the source.
Earlier, cricketer Sachin Tendulkar had sent relief material valued at Rs.15 lakh for Jammu and Kashmir flood victims. The Master Blaster also sanctioned Rs.25 lakh out of his constituency development fund.
Lead stars of 'Haider', Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor also donated the prize money they won on the game show KBC toward PM's relief fund that would be used to help the J&K flood victims.
