What's with The Times of India? After slutshaming Deepika Padukone over her cleavage, the newspaper has aimed its guns at Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's "ugly" legs now.  That's right!

The tabloid press has put up yet another scandalous piece on its website titled 'Hot babes with ugly legs' where it says that ‘The former Miss World has legs that look better when covered’.

Not just Aishwarya, the article targets other Bollywood actresses like Dia Mirza, Aditi Tao Hydari and Bhumika Chawla, defining their leggy parts in the most unsavory way.

Like actress Aditi Rao Hydari, who is "pretty" but "clearly not comfortable with her wobbly knees,” it opines.

And then there are the ‘Holly Paradoxes’. From Sarah Jessica Parker to Britney Spears and from Katie Holmes to Jennifer Lopez, it pores over their legs in the most unpalatable tongue.

This unsightly scrutiny by the portal has received flak from the UK media house – The Independent where Louise Court, Editor-in-Chief of British women’s magazine Cosmopolitan has slammed the tabloid saying that it should focus on the talent of the women on that list – and not their legs.

"Those muscular legs would look more at home at the wrestling ring!" it gagged at Britney Spears' limbs.

It offensively described Katie Holmes as the "Cute and pretty" ex-wife of Tom Cruise, who "may be skinny on top, but has rather thick legs with muscular calves."

Louise Court is plain disgusted by the piece.

"This Times of India article actually made my jaw drop – which I should probably add, in the spirit of things, could do with more definition and was cushioned as it hit the desk by a bit of a double chin," she tells The Independent.

"It is like an article from Viz. Women’s bodies is not fair game. Creating the ideal of a 'perfect' image that women should look like is vile to the celebrities criticized but also heaps inferred pressure and criticism on the rest of womankind.

"I was infuriated by it – but women struggling with their body image are made even more vulnerable.

"This article is just mean and pointless. We should be focusing on the talent of the women on that list - not what they look like. Angelina Jolie is an Oscar winner and global humanitarian. Sarah Jessica Parker is an Emmy award winning actress and producer and fashion designer. Do you want me to go on? The conversation should be about their achievements."

Meanwhile, we are waiting for the Bachchan’s family reaction to this.

We hope that the Times of India understands that there is no bravado in discussing the body parts of the actress. At least this isn’t what its readers expect from it. We have just one advice for the publication: GROW UP!
