Rani Mukerji's comeback venture 'Mardaani' opened to lukewarm response yesterday.

Although the film opened in 3000 screens, it posted an average occupancy of just 30%.

Made on a modest scale, the film managed to garner just 5-6 crores on Day 1.

Although the critics have loved the flick, an A certificate might keep families away from thronging at the theaters, and hinder its collections, we believe.

With “Singham Returns” still going strong at the counters and Emraan Hashmi's “Raja Natwarlal” well on it's way, “Mardaani” has just this week to make the most of it.

Trade pundits are hoping that the film would bank about 25 crores in a weeks time.

The success of the film will largely depend on word of mouth and we hope that catches up fast because Rani is just stupendous in her comeback avatar. Not to be missed!
